Architecture
The foundation to all my creativity is through architecture and building. Prior to becoming a fine artist I renovated historic buildings and built new structures of distinction. From a young age I worked on all aspects of the construction process. Learning building methods, materials and design has also been essential to my sculpture career. Initially without being fully conscious of the effect of good design I slowly became aware of the transformative response of my projects.
Art is not something we merely put into a house. My Architectural projects are living, breathing, functional sculptures called home.
For me, architecture and fine art are inseparable. The pursuit of beauty and form in all manners is existence at its highest level. As evolutionary beings we are driven to seek and create a better self and purpose. I consider my building projects as functional art pieces that have an impact on individuals as well as entire communities.
New in 2023/24, inspired by the richness of Mexico culture and design, I have undertaken projects in the state of Nayarit.
